Located in East Tampa, the new 25,000 sq. ft. public library replaced the existing library, originally built in 1994 and named after C. Blythe Andrews, Jr., a publisher of the Florida Sentinel Bulletin. A section of the new library houses newspaper archives and is dedicated to Andrews, in memoriam of his notable career as a journalist, editor, and publisher for nearly 50 years. The two-story building takes on contemporary design elements, and incorporates three large community rooms, a Kid’s Zone and a recording studio.
